Dean has an escape plan from his marriage, and it’s pretty damn simple. Take his car, and drive across the country to his lawyer brother’s place.
He figures that just because one of his alpha brother-in-laws is already driving the Impala having newly purchased it for himself shouldn’t make a load of difference. After all, Dean’s found his old gun, and he can be pretty persuasive with it now he needs to be.

Most omegas take suppressants for many reasons, if they aren’t mated it keeps alphas from scenting them, and it keeps heats (which can be painful and debilitating even for a mated omega) at bay. It also suppresses submissive peeing, something omegas are biologically wired to do if an alpha in their vicinity gets angry or turned on.
Dean is an omega who’s been on suppressants his whole life, but now he wants to be mated with Sam and to do that he has to go off suppressants long enough for them to clear his system before the mating to take hold. The scenting and the heat he figures he can deal with, but he’s not looking forward to his bladder being at the whim of any alpha with a strong temper, or libido. Luckily, Sam is not only understanding, he kind of finds it hot.

Truth was he hadn’t expected to see Castiel again. It wasn’t like they had exchanged numbers or anything, it was a simple case of helping someone out. Basic human albeit horny, biologically driven decency. He knew he could have gotten it from Sam but Cas was like his only friend. Not that Sam couldn’t make any, quite the opposite, the kid had always been well sought out after. Making friends just wasn’t a priority. So Dean went on with life ignoring his bodies protests for a good fuck, because really Cas had taken to the forefront of Deans spank bank, and went on with life as he usually did.
That was until he ran out of coffee.

In a world where scent doesn’t really play that much of a role except sometimes between mated pairs, a lot of people tend to base their assumptions of who’s what secondary gender by their body shape and behaviour. Omegas are seen as small and delicate, while alphas are bigger and more stereotypically masculine, with betas falling somewhere in between.
Thus, everybody (or almost everybody) thinks that Gabriel is the omega in his and Dean’s relationship. And while it’s true that he does on occasion like taking it rather than giving it in bed, he has a knot to rival the tallest, most macho alpha around, and his and Dean’s… exploratory sex life often leaves them in situations where it’s really fucking difficult to hide who’s got the bigger hard-on in their pants versus who’s leaking slick into theirs.
Even so, it’s only when Dean gets pregnant that most people realise that the guy they thought was textbook alpha is the exact opposite behind closed doors.
